Purchase: Trail Cameras (m-s) I bought this camera because I have been looking for a deer camera that is afforable to use on public land that has good battery life. This unit was purchased at Nativeoutdoors.com and they have competitive prices withouy paying high retail prices.
Things I like about the Stealth cam I540ir / digital video surveillance camera Trail Cameras (m-s): I like this unit because of the 12 volt external battery option that helps reduce the cost of internal batteries. I also like the secutiry barcket for this unit is inexpensive. I like the performance of the motion detector and the trigger speed is good. This unit has many options for burst picture and video.
What I don't like about the Stealth cam I540ir / digital video surveillance camera: Even though I like this unit there are a few things that could be improved: 1. This unit needs a software update because this unit takes alot of false triggers events. I have many pictures of tiny birds up in the tree branches. This camera takes pictures of eveything from a swaying leaf to deer. It would be nice if the motion and heat sensor were more selective determining a trigger event. The second thing is the sd card can be difficult to remove with adult fingers may need tweezers.

I540ir / digital video surveillance camera summary: I would highly reccomend the Stealh I540IR because it is affordable to use on public land takes good pictures with many options. This unit has good battery life with the internal batteries and even greater life with the 12volt external battery option. Even though the motion sensor is over sensitive or trigger happy the unit has been very dependable and does not miss any event worth capturing.
