Things I like about the Power Belt 54cal 295gr Ballistic Tip Black Powder: Very easy loading and very accurate.
What I don't like about the Power Belt 54cal 295gr Ballistic Tip: Although these bullets are great at the shooting range, they fail miserably at killing cleanly if at all on big game animals. I have shot one pronghorn (twice before my buddy made a fatal shot to put it down) and a white tail doe ( which was lost after two hours of tracking due to a rain storm). All shots were well placed and all were under 100yds. It appearred on the antelope that the bullets just exploded on impact. Although there was substantial tissue damage, there was no weight retention and very little shock effect.
Black Powder 54cal 295gr Ballistic Tip quality: These bullets appear to be well made and as stated function well until you need them to actually kill something!
54cal 295gr Ballistic Tip summary: If you want a bullet for the range this is a good one. It's accurate and very easy to load. No ball starter needed and very little physical force required as compared to many others. I will however, never again use these bullets for hunting. The animals deserve better than what these bullets deliver.
