Leupold VX-III Rifle Scopes

Rifle Scopes Manufacturer: Leupold
Leupold Model: VX-III
Review Category: Rifle Scopes

Purchase: Rifle Scopes I recently damaged my Bushnell Sportsman scope on a Remington Model Seven and decided it was time to upgrade. I have always heard of the "Golden Ring" quality of Leupold and it was time to give it a try. I paid $400 for a 2.5-8x36 VX-III from Cabela's.

Things I like about the Leupold VX-III Rifle Scopes: This scope is solid and durable. The clarity and light gathering ability is impressive for a less expensive scope. The 1/4 MOA clicks are finger adjustable. It is more lightweight and compact than other standard variable magnification scopes and fits perfectly on any rifle, especially compact models.

What I don't like about the Leupold VX-III: Nothing, it is exactly what I wanted in a scope.

Rifle Scopes VX-III quality: The VX-III has an improved lens system (IMLS) that claims to provide better clarity, better performance in low light, and better resistance to fogging. This has proved true in my use of the scope. The construction is very strong but surprisingly lightweight. The dials are user friendly and very solid.

VX-III summary: If you are looking for a very high quality rifle scope without the price tag of a Zeiss or Swarovski, then a Leupold VX-III is the way to go. There are other advantages to buying Leupold as well, particularly the warranty. Every scope features a lifetime warranty, even in the case of a used purchase. Leupold backs their products. Also, if you are someone who prefers to buy U.S.A. products, Leupold is generally regarded as the highest quality and highest value U.S. manufactured optics company. For those considering buying, I recommend going through Cabela's.com. The online Cabela's store always features new bargains and scopes are often included. I recently checked the VX-III's and they were being sold at $75 off for a limited time. I always compare with Cabela's before I buy new gear and have found that Cabela's is usually a bit cheaper. Also, Leupold scopes are shipped free. The bottom line: I am very happy with my new VX-III as it has proved to be the ideal scope in terms of quality and price. If I buy another rifle I will likely be looking for a Leupold to go with it. I haven't used any other scope that can beat it. Good luck and happy hunting!
