Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc I bought this rifle at Brady's Sportsman's Surplus new for around $350 with an upgraded scope.
Things I like about the Stevens - Savage Stevens 200, 25-06 Hunting Gear Misc: The synthetic stock makes this a nice light weight rifle. it shoots flats and accurate. 4 round magazine bolt action, not a lot to worry about going wrong with this gun.
What I don't like about the Stevens - Savage Stevens 200, 25-06: I guess I am little romantic and wish the stock and butt where wood, but it doesn't seem to affect the performance and for the cost you can't beat it.
Hunting Gear Misc Stevens 200, 25-06 quality: The single piece molded synthetic stock durable and you don't really have to worry about protecting it. the action is smooth and the gun fires accurately.
Stevens 200, 25-06 summary: Savage Arms's low end or "entry level" gun, but it's still a Savage. the .25-06 is nice caliber, i think. i bought it to hunt deer and maybe antelope, lots of guys told me this is a great deer rifle, and i agree. it shoot long and flat. it is way lighter and recoils less than a .270 or .30-06. yet has good stopping power, you know it's not a .243. if you want a nice gun that you can throw in the back of your rig and not worry about marring it up but will kill big deer and small elk with a good shot, this is it.
