Remington Ghost DG x 5.0 Trail Cameras
Trail Cameras Manufacturer: Remington Ghost
Remington Ghost Model: DG x 5.0
Review Category: Trail Cameras
Purchase: Trail Cameras I received this as a Christmas present from my wife. It was purchased from Dick's Sporting Goods. She paid $ 119 + tax.
Things I like about the Remington Ghost DG x 5.0 Trail Cameras: Not one thing.
What I don't like about the Remington Ghost DG x 5.0: When I first saw this camera, I could not wait to set it up. When I went to program it, the date would not program properly, so I returned the first camera back to Dick's, in exchange for another one. Since that time, I have not been able to take one night picture, most of the day pictures are completely white, and the screen is very hard to see unless you lay the camera flat for programming. It also does not take infra-red. I've even tried to use the camera indoors, without much success. Even when pictures are taken, the quality is poor. I have a cheaper, trail camera that works better and was in hopes that a more expensive camera, with infra-red would work better and be of better quality. After reading other reviews, I can see that others have had the same issues with this camera. In addition, the time and date does not have a back-up feature. Everytime the camera is turned off, the time and date have to be reprogrammed.
Trail Cameras DG x 5.0 quality: Construction appears to be rugged, and the "concept" of the camera would be great, if it worked.
DG x 5.0 summary: Remington should be ashamed to put their name on this product. I think the name "Ghost" is appropriate, as every picture is a ghost because you can't see it! All customers shoud have their money returned and be compensated for their troubles. I have spent countless hours programming, setting up the camera, checking for pictures and resetting. To sum up, it is very disappointing.
