Berkley 6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod Fishing Reels

Fishing Reels Manufacturer: Berkley
Berkley Model: 6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod
Review Category: Fishing Reels

Purchase: Fishing Reels Sorry to say Cabela's I bought mine from K-Mart about a year ago. I was looking for a new rod to put with a new reel I had just bought and noticed this particular one while browsing the store. The price was the reason I picked it up to look at it.

Things I like about the Berkley 6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod Fishing Reels: Price, cork handle, weight, eyelets.

What I don't like about the Berkley 6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod: So far, I have been more than satisfied with the rod. So much so that I bought a 6'6" spin and a 6'0" bait caster. So, the answer to the ? above is nothing.

Fishing Reels 6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod quality: The quality seems to be pretty good, it had a very high gloss finish. It does have plastic where the reel foot goes but this probably is part of the lightness of it and it won't rust or corrode. It is a two piece rod which is good if you have to carry it in a trunk or backseat. It has a lure eye at the base of the rod, too.

6'0" Cherrywood Spin Rod summary: Upon picking it up I could not believe how light weight it was. I own about 30 rods and reel combinations so I am no novice to say the least. I have fished with $200 rods with the same feel. The action was good, not real stiff but not soft and spongy either. It had cork handles which is a sign of a better quality rod. I wasn't so sure about the line eyelets because I like the aluminum oxide (AO)type. Since buying it, I have found that the eyelets are actually better than the AO type, the material they are made of is as hard as the aluminum oxide but much tougher to break and can't be chipped. They are also much lighter which helps the balance of the rod/reel combo. This makes throwing artificials all day less tiring, too. On using this rod I find I love the thing. One final word, this rod is what experts would call cheap (yes, mine cost $19.95 + tax) but it is a real steal for the price.
