Shakespeare Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo Rod and Reel Combos
Rod and Reel Combos Manufacturer: Shakespeare
Shakespeare Model: Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo
Review Category: Rod and Reel Combos
Purchase: I bought the 4'8" Ultra Light combo from Dick's Sporting Goods. It was $29.99. I bought the unit because I really like using small ultra light rods and reels for stream fishing trout. Alot of the streams that I fish are not very big and can sometimes be extremely tight, which makes this little rod very useful in those situations.
Things I like about the Shakespeare Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo: What can I tell you, it's an Ugly Stick. I really like everything about this rod/reel combo. It is short enough to get into those real tight holes on small streams. The real is a very good for the situations that I use it in. Besides trout, it is also very good for catching panfish.
What I don't like about the Shakespeare Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo: I don't think there is anything that i don't like about this combo.
Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo quality: Like I said earlier, the rod is an Ugly Stick, so for construction and quality, I think that is all that needs to be said. The reel is a Pro-Am 125 with a 4.9:1 gear ratio and it has handled every fish that I have caught and it has taken a beating while still working.
Ugly Spin Rod and Reel Combo summary: If you are into Ultralight Trout fishing, especially small streams, this is a very good buy. Construction, quality and price that you just can't beat.
