Purchase: Fishing Rods I bought this rod at Weavers store inc. in fivepointville, Pa. I bought it with trout fishing in mind although I have used it for Bass and Catfish as well. I paid $28 for it then.
Things I like about the shakespere ugly stick Fishing Rods: I like this rod because is has good action, light weight, is very sensative, andvery tough. I have been using this rod now for about 5 years and have gone thorough several reels but the rod is still in good condition.
What I don't like about the shakespere ugly stick: The only thing that I don't like about this rod is that is is very short making long casts a lot harder. It's length is only 4' 6".
Fishing Rods ugly stick quality: This rod is a graphite core and I think a carbon fiber shell. It is very good quality, I have not broken it on any of the 5 18" and above trout or the many 17" and above catfish, even though they bent it over double.
ugly stick summary: This rod is a good quality rod that can stand up to the test of use. I do not know of anybody that has one that does not like it. The only thing that I would do if I bought another one is I would get a longer one. This is a great all-around fishing rod.
