Purchase: My wife, now for 2yrs, bought me this rifle as a later wedding gift, so I could go deer hunting. She bought it from Everready Outdoors in Fulton,MO for $657.87
Things I like about the Remington 700 Mountain Rifle DM 30-06: I like the weight of the rifle, it helps in the field, you don't get tired carrying it. I love the caliber, it can be used for predator, deer and larger game with the right ammo and pratice (which I do often). I'm impressed with detachable magazine cause it lets you keep your rifle safe(unloaded) till you get in the field or in the stand and you can put on in the chamber quick and easy with a quick movement of the bolt. I do like the way the bolt can be locked so it won't close, cause even though I keep it locked up no-one can use it without unlocking the bolt with my J-key.
What I don't like about the Remington 700 Mountain Rifle DM 30-06: I'm of a small framed body and I don't care for the recoil, I'm having that taken care of though. Also, barrel length is only 22" I'd rather have another 4 to 6 inches on my 30-06, helps with those long shoots.
700 Mountain Rifle DM 30-06 quality: The stock is made of American walnut with straight comb and cheekpiece is satin-finished and 20-line checkering. My stock looks as if it's darker than most, which I like alot.
700 Mountain Rifle DM 30-06 summary: Wonderful rifle, looks and feel are great, needs to be offered in longer barrel lengths other than that it's outstanding.
