Rocky Boots 9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate Hunting Boots
Hunting Boots Manufacturer: Rocky Boots
Rocky Boots Model: 9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate
Review Category: Hunting Boots
Purchase: Hunting Boots Purchased at Phil's shoe store in November 2005 in Philadelphia. For cold weather hunting of bear and deer. Cost $149.00.
Things I like about the Rocky Boots 9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate Hunting Boots: Had no complaints the first 4 seasons, warm and fit fine, still water proof after 4 seasons. I purchased because I have another pair of rockys that are over 10 years old and are still wearable, however no longer water proof, now leak at the seams.
What I don't like about the Rocky Boots 9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate: I've only worn these boots during November and December cold weather hunting which can't be more than 20 - 30 days per year. Took them out this year and found the soles have dry rotted off them. All the lugs have fallen off and the soles have split all the way across.
Hunting Boots 9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate quality: I attribute my problems with the bear claw boots to poor quality materials used for the soles. I expected to get more than 100 or 120 days of wear from boots that cost $150.
9127 / Bear Claw 1000gram Thinsulate summary: I Contacted Rocky. They offered me a 35% discount coupon for my next purchase. I told them to stick it as I will not be making a next purchase of Rocky boots. Purchased a pair of Field & Streams w/vibrum soles for the 2009 season. They were under a $100 on sale. So far, so good.
