Purchase: Rifle Scopes The scope was bought in Vermont at Rick's Gun Shop. I acquired it for hunting big game on my 7mm remington magnum Browning. I paid approximately 350.00 for the scope.
Things I like about the Leupold vxIIc Rifle Scopes: The price point and ease of use.
What I don't like about the Leupold vxIIc: Unit was bought 5 years ago and now after three years of sitting in the safe the optics are very dim even after Lepold recoating the optics and eventhough the scope is zeroed dead on at 100 yards I took a Muley at 158 yards and the bullet dropped 4" below the point of aim. The lifetime warranty is also less than to be desired when I sent the scope back approximately 6 weeks before my trip I was told that it would take 2 months due to the fact that they were upgrading their computers and that if I wanted it back in time I would have to pay for overnight shipping back (a 50.00 venture through UPS). The only reason why I got my scope back in time is because I wrote a letter to the VP of development and he sent me an overnight label and saw to it that the scope was done, but it still is not right. After 5 years I know other people that have Swarovski and Browning and their scopes are still as bright as day one. Never again will I go with a Leupold they are not what they used to be.
Rifle Scopes vxIIc quality: Overall construction is good. Quality was good when the scope was new but dropped off after that.
vxIIc summary: I am going to upgrade the scope for my next hunting trip and will not go with a Leupold after 5 years the scope is junk. It would be suited for a .22 but not for my 7mm. I will look towards the Bushnell 6500 6-24x50 with BDC or possibly the ATN 8-24x75. If you are considering the Leupold for their lifetime warranty it leaves much to be desired.
