Shimano CT-400 Fishing Reels
Fishing Reels Manufacturer: Shimano
Shimano Model: CT-400
Review Category: Fishing Reels
Purchase: Paid $169.00 At Elkorn Bait & Tackle was recommended as a great Salmon reel.
Things I like about the Shimano CT-400: Simplicity is key when fishing. Shimano has always had an edge on the compititon when it comes to reels and the Calcutta line seems to be the pristine reel ask any real fisherman. This reel feels solid from the 1 piece aluminum frame and is a breeze to use with many casts and no bird nesting(More time to fish) and also no back play so you can really set that hook. If you loose your fish rest assured its not from your reel.
What I don't like about the Shimano CT-400: Not much really. although it feels really smooth they could throw in a few more ball bearings.
CT-400 quality: 1 piece aluminum case with gold finish looks how it operates....great. 2 ballbearings and 1 rollerbearing is suprisingly smooth and provides the fish no backplay. stardrag works likes it supposed to and allows you to customize you play the fish.
CT-400 summary: Recommend this reel to anyone who doesn't want to loose there fish because of reel malfunction. I have put this reel to the test again and again it operates like the day I bought it.
