Things I like about the Ambassadeur C-4 Bait Casting Reels Fishing Reels: The Ambassadeur Bait casting reels, made in Sweeden, have a long and excellent history. I bought my first one for Musky fishing but now use them for Bass, Pike and Steelhead too. The C-4 reels have a very fast 6.3 to 1 gear ratio. If you want to retrieve slow then just crank slowly. The high speed however allows you to burn a bucktail at high speeds and keep it up over weed tops where the Pike and Muskie lurk. If you are Trout fishing on a stream you are able to cast upstream with a spinner and retrieve it fast enough to keep the blades spinning even in a rapid current. The Trout have no time to examine the lure but are forced to make a snap decision and nail the spinner. The brass gears are all but indestructable and the Abu reels have great drags. The only wear item is a $2 pawl that runs the levelwind back and forth. It takes many long hard seasons however to wear one out and it is easily replaced in about one minute.
What I don't like about the Ambassadeur C-4 Bait Casting Reels: Nothing I don't like about mu Abu reels. Even the price is good.
Fishing Reels C-4 Bait Casting Reels quality: Construction and quality is excellent. The bearings are smooth, drag system good, even the finish is good looking and long lasting.
C-4 Bait Casting Reels summary: There are cheaper reels you could buy but you will not be happy. The price for the Abu reels runs from $50 to $100, much less expensive than expensive reels. Many sizes are available to suit almost any need. Smooth long trouble free casts and tough guts to handle any fish you will catch is what you can expect from Abu Garcia!
