Berkley Lighting Rod Fishing Rods
Fishing Rods Manufacturer: Berkley
Berkley Model: Lighting Rod
Review Category: Fishing Rods
Purchase: Fishing Rods I was on a fishing trip at Lake Ontario, off the shores of upstate NY. My pole I had with me was damaged on the trip up so I decided to get a new one. So, I went to the closest bait shop and look at there rod and reel combo's. I came across the Berkley lighting rod acompanied with an Okuma reel. The price for the combo was $69.99. Which for a bait shop wasn't a bad price at all, I thought.
Things I like about the Berkley Lighting Rod Fishing Rods: Some of the features I like about this combo is the balance of the combo all together, the fact that it is a medium action but still has a sensitive tip (really nice for when fishing in a rive or stream), and that it breaks in half for easier transportation.
What I don't like about the Berkley Lighting Rod: So far the only down fall that I have ran into is the top portion of the pole slides over the bottom which after a lot of casts tends to losen and miss aligns the eyes of the pole
Fishing Rods Lighting Rod quality: The over all construction and quality of the pole on a scale of 1-10 I would have to rate it a 9. I am sure there is something out there that might be better but I am more than satisfied with this pole.
Lighting Rod summary: If you fish for a bunch of different speicies of fish and only want to use one pole for all this would be the one. I have used it for trout in streams, walleye and tiger muskie in the river, and I have even put it to the test of using it for trolling for lake trout.
