Shakespeare Catera baitcast rod Fishing Rods
Fishing Rods Manufacturer: Shakespeare
Shakespeare Model: Catera baitcast rod
Review Category: Fishing Rods
Purchase: Fishing Rods My old baitcast rod was only 5 ft. 6 in. It seemed too short, so I wanted to buy a new one. I wanted one that was under $50 but yet high quality. I picked up the Shakespeare Catera about 4 months ago at Scheels All Sports for $29.99.
Things I like about the Shakespeare Catera baitcast rod Fishing Rods: The rod comes in many different actions, lengths, and both 1 and 2 peices. So you have a wide variety to pick from. The handle and reel seat is very comfortable.
What I don't like about the Shakespeare Catera baitcast rod: There are very few things I dislike about this rod. One of them is that it has 9 guides + the tip, and it looks a little strange on only a 6 ft. 6 in. rod. Also, The wrapping that comes on the cork when you buy it has writing on it so if you like to keep it on, it looks weird. otherwise it is a great rod.
Fishing Rods Catera baitcast rod quality: I like the gray color of it, it makes the rod unique. It is a very sensitive rod with a strong backbone. It has a sturdy hook keeper in an excellent spot(I prefer them on the side instead of on top).
Catera baitcast rod summary: I would suggest this rod to anyone, since it is a good-quality rod with a low price. Unless I get rich, I will buy these rods for my baitcaster my entire life. That is if I ever need a new one. Although I am looking to buy a med. heavy. action to replace my med. action. Shakespeare also makes a spinning rod, spinning reel in front and back drag, and a round and low profile baitcast reel in the Catera model all for about $30
