Purchase: Archery Bows I purchased this bow at an archery pro shop for approximately $720/. New Mathews bows can not be mail ordered. Archery is a hobbie of mine and I buy a new bow every two years or so.
Things I like about the Mathews Lx Archery Bows: The bow draws smooth, is fast and with a few rest adjustments shot perfect "bullet" holes in paper. Paper tuning is important to me, not all bows can be tuned this way. I own two Mathews bows and they both shot "bullet" holes in paper with very minimal effort. I have owned many bows and I can honestly say that the Mathews bows I have purchased (Fx & Lx) are the cream of the crop. Solid, accurate and well made. I have shot the Fx and Lx through my chronograph and found that the bows shot at least as fast the advertised IBO rating. The Lx and Fx are accurate! The Lx has a brace height that is a good compromise between all out speed and forgiveness.
What I don't like about the Mathews Lx: The Lx bow was a little noiser than I expected. The Fx is quiter. I am shooting light ACC 3-60 arrows that weigh approximately 425 grains. The mathews quivers are the most expensive on the market at $90 dollars and that seems a bit too much to me. Both the bow and quiver are expensive, but are of the best quality.
Archery Bows Lx quality: The Lx is built solidly and I have not had one problem with it. The string has not crept after the intial 60 shots or so.
Lx summary: The Lx is the best bow I have ever owned - bar none (Hoyt, PSE, AR, Darton, High Country). I take 2 weeks of vacation to hunt elk every fall and I put a lot of effort into bowhunting. After Puchasing the Lx I have no regrets. If the $719 price range is too much for your budget, go with the Mathes Fx there is not a better bow on the market in it's price range!
