Review Category: Other
Purchase: Gun Dog Supply and it cost me $239.00. I have a new pup that just won't listen. I think it might be a hormone thing, but don't want to get him fixed as he comes from an excellent bloodline.
Things I like about the Tri-Tronics Remote Dog Trainer Sport 50-S: This is the first electronic caller I've purchased. I never thought I would purchase one, but I just don't have a choice with this short hair. I like the six levels of intensity because as I said earlier I don't want to ever hurt the dog, yet I find myself being ignored by him when it isn't on. It has a tremendous range which he has tasted more than once with his all out sprints away from me.
What I don't like about the Tri-Tronics Remote Dog Trainer Sport 50-S: What I don't like is he knows the second it comes off and goes back to being his old self. I've even tried creating dummy collars, although he immediately knows the difference and out comes the devil. He'll certainly destroy it if I leave it on him in his pen no matter how well it's made. This dog is just outright evil, but shows strong signs of being a great hunter when he's in the mood.
Sport 50-S quality: Very well made, and he's tested it's construction several times now.
Sport 50-S summary: As long as it's on he is a well behaved dog. It does it's job, it's time for him to step up to the plate and do his. At this point I'm going to just leave it on him 24/7 and see what happens. It may sound foolish, but I really believe in this dog and know he can do good things once and if he ever calms down.
