Purchase: Archery Bows I purchased this bow from JB's archery in Middlefield Ohio. MSRP is $679. I paid $640 out the door for it and ended up saving $80 on the Patriot.
Things I like about the BowTech 2004 Patriot VFT SC Archery Bows: The BowTech Patriot VFT is a state of the art wonder that handles and shoots like a dream. The Patriot VFT (Vertical Force Technology) is designed with a longer machined aluminum riser and parallel limbs. The VFT design of the Patriot means any power not converted directly into the arrow speed is then dispersed away from the riser, equally in opposite directions. This causes hand shock and recoil to effectively disappear. The Patriot is also equipped with BowTech's pivoting limb pockets. They work to maintain the bows peak efficiency when backing down the bow's peak draw weight. My Patriot (a dual cam version is also available) is equipped with BowTech's Infinity cam. The bow is blazing fast even equipped with a 7 inch brace height. IBO speeds of up to 328 FPS are achieved. The Infinity cam has a draw stop that permits fine tuning of your draw length, without having to twist the strings and cables. The super thin camo laminate grip is also very comfortable in hand.
What I don't like about the BowTech 2004 Patriot VFT SC: My only complaints with the Patriot and this goes for BowTech's complete line up of bows that I have experience with (I have owned 3 of them) is the film dipped camo finish is not of the highest quality in regards to durability and premature wear in routinely handled areas. The strings and cables BowTech now uses is a step back from what they offered a couple of years ago. They are no longer equipped with Winners Choice strings and cables. The cables BowTech now uses are no slouch, but just not the quality of Winners Choice.

2004 Patriot VFT SC summary: The Patriot is the ultimate hunting bow for many reasons. At 33 inches axle to axle and the 7 inch brace height gives you a compact bow with a generous brace height that has an incredibly accurate, stable and rock solid platform. Not to mention the blazing arrow speeds and deadly silent and shock free shot. Let off is adjustable from 65% to 80% and the Patriot weighs in at a trim 3 pounds 12 ounces. Draw weights are available from 50# up to 80#. Draw length is adjustable from 25 - 30 inches by changing a module, no bow press is required.
