Garmin Rino 120 GPS
GPS Manufacturer: Garmin
Garmin Model: Rino 120
Review Category: GPS
Purchase: GPS I bought this little hunters dream for $199.00 from getagps.com. About 5 years ago I decided that my inborn sense of misdirection is never going away. so if I want to keep coming home, I better have a little help. This is my second gps from Garmin.
Things I like about the Garmin Rino 120 GPS: This unit is very functional. It serves as a gps and a handheld radio. When talking to someone else with a rino, it shows you where the other user is. Very handy for a taking your kids hunting. Comes with a belt clip that hangs it like a cell phone. Also, small enough as not to be cumbersome like the older units.
What I don't like about the Garmin Rino 120: The buttons are a little small and the center toggle is tough to use while wearing gloves. Also, since it only takes 3 batteries, you get about 6-12 hours battery life, depending on temperature. Accessories, like a mount or a hands-free microphone are a little high priced.
GPS Rino 120 quality: So far, in 2 years of using this unit, it has not let me down. The people at Garmin really thought this one out. It has been dropped out of my truck, out of my pocket, and into a lake from my boat and just keeps working.
Rino 120 summary: In my opinion, this is the best gps on the market for the money. If you have kids just beginning to hunt, this is the way to help keep track of them. A pretty small investment for that kind of peace of mind.
