Purchase: Archery Bows Purchased for nephew after reading about Parker's Youth Bow program; in which additional modules can be purchased as youngster grows. Purchased bow for $520 with 2 hour professional setup included from T. Wilcox of Wilcox Bait & Tackle, Newport News, Virginia. I had started my nephew around age ten with a bow for Christmas, he had outgrown that bow ,but he still has small frame & short draw at age twelve.
Things I like about the Parker Bow Challenger Youth Model Archery Bows: Luckily Parker makes (2) two models for youth: the Junior Mag bow series (draw lengths 18-24) and the Challenger bow series (draw lengths 22-27) Prior to purchase I researched the Internet & measured his draw length, but I wanted him to be fitted by a professional just to be sure! Turns out I was right to send him for a "custom setup" as my nephew had longer draw length then the Junior Mag Bow could accomadate. (Junior Mag bow setup is cheaper of the two.) They placed him in 50lb pull 26 inch Challenger bow that will acomadate his growthin the future & price paid includes the upgrade modules & necessary adjustments down the road pre-paid. Bow setup included (new) Whisker Biscuit rest,Peep,Arrow Holder,Arm sling,Whisker silencers,Index finger release,6 Custom cut Carbon arrows & 2 hours of personal set up attention & practice shooting at their range in the store!
What I don't like about the Parker Bow Challenger Youth Model: Upfront cost is a expensive initially,but if you consider that this includes any adjustments & modules due to growth [Pre-paid]. Then this may be the option for you.
Archery Bows Challenger Youth Model quality: The Parker Challenger is a 32.5 axle to axle bow (just slightly larger version of their Ultra light 31 model)It comes in Superflauge camo just like the rest of the Parker line. His "custom setup" included a Whisker Biscuit rest and triton 3 point sight.
Challenger Youth Model summary: The Challenger Bow seems to fit small framed youth & women exceptionally well. With this setup he is shooting almost as accurately as his Uncle straight out of the box with field points!
