Purchase: Tree Stands Summit Tree Stands are the best out there in my opinion. I bought this one after my Loggy Bayou finally started showing it's age. After trying a Summit Tree Stand I finally hung my old trusted Loggy Bayou up for good. I paid about $180 but that's because I have a friend who works in a Hunting Shop.
Things I like about the Summit Viper Tree Stands: The Summit has a rock solid grip that goes up a tree with ease. More than once my old tree stands had me in a full sweat by the time I got in position, however with the summit viper you just sit and stand and up you go. This is a very well thought out stand not by some guy in an office, but someone who has spent some time on stand.
What I don't like about the Summit Viper : I didn't mind, but I think my Wife had an issue with the price.
Tree Stands Viper quality: First rate, it's only coming up on the second season for this tree stand and to date no problems. I don't have any suspicions about it either.
Viper summary: I love the Summit Tree Stand, easy to use which is nice as I grow older. Also, last year I setup one of those camo colored umbrellas above the stand and it did a great job of keeping rain and snow off my head. This year I'm going to experiment with putting a frame around the stand to hang some weather resistant material around to make sort of a wind/weather stop/blind all in one. Wishing you luck. TNT
