Leupold VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish Rifle Scopes

Rifle Scopes Manufacturer: Leupold
Leupold Model: VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish
Review Category: Rifle Scopes

Purchase: Rifle Scopes I purchased this scope online for $469.00 with rings/bases and shipping included. I know it's an unbelievable price, but that's what I paid and it's not a Vari-X. I have it on my Browning A-bolt 338. I had a Leupold Vari-X II on my rifle, but the price was too good to pass up.

Things I like about the Leupold VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish Rifle Scopes: I enjoy the quality of Leupold Scopes and this scope is a perfect match for my rifle's capability and any long-range shots I might be required to take. I also like this scope because you can determine the yardage to a target. This comes in handy when you don't have time to use a rangefinder. The best part is that after you figure out the range you simply choose the correct crosshair. Anyone that has to take a long distance shot will come to appreciate this feature.

What I don't like about the Leupold VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish : It's been said that you should pay the same amount on a scope as you did on a rifle. Leupold is known for great quality, but it's the price tag that turns people to other brands that achieve a close comparison without the cost.

Rifle Scopes VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish quality: The name says it all. Time and time again I had to endure my rifle being jostled inside a gun scabbard, but it was always a sweet relief to see a practice shot was on target. Can you do that with a Simmons or Bushnell?

VX- III 4.5-14x40mm Boone & Crockett Matte Finish summary: Leupold doesn't have the most expensive scopes on the market, but they're not the cheapest either. Price is a huge factor when it comes to purchasing a new scope. Why spend the extra dollars on a Leupold when you can get a Nikon for less? The answer is simple: craftsmanship, quality and reliability. It's your decision, but my dollar was well spent!
