Strongbuilt Cherokee Climbing Tree Stands
Tree Stands Manufacturer: Strongbuilt
Strongbuilt Model: Cherokee Climbing
Review Category: Tree Stands
Purchase: Tree Stands I aquired this stand from Bass pro shops. It is normaly 99.00$ but I got it on sale for 89.99. I am new to stand hunting and this is my first stand.
Things I like about the Strongbuilt Cherokee Climbing Tree Stands: This stand is light, and climbs farely easy. It is very comfortable to sit in. It climbs good and has good stability.
What I don't like about the Strongbuilt Cherokee Climbing : The biggest problem with the cherokee is when you are carring it on your back there is a screw sticking right in the middle of your back it is extremely uncomfortable. I pack in about 2 mile and when I got out of the shower the other night my wife gasps and says what happened to your back. The screw had given me 3 large puncture wounds and a bruise 6" in diameter. One of the other problems is that it does not collapse very small for carring, and is very bulky for the size of stand that it is. The last thing I would mention is that it is not good at all for smaller trees. The tightest spot on the cable is still far to loose for trees under 18". Depending on where you hunt this can present farely big problems
Tree Stands Cherokee Climbing quality: The construction is adaquate, I have only climbed 20 trees so far but it is still in good shape. There is a sprap that goes around the tree to hold up the back pad and that looks like it is going to be the first part to go. I believe there is a fault in design with the seat, it is hard to keep it out of the way when you are climing and the dammage I have mentioned to the strap has come from getting between the tree and the stand.
Cherokee Climbing summary: It was only 90 bucks but if I could do it again I would spend more money and get a better stand. Just carry it for a mile and you will be wishing you had gone a little higher end.
