St. Croix Avid Casting 6' MH Fast Fishing Rods

Fishing Rods Manufacturer: St. Croix
St. Croix Model: Avid Casting 6' MH Fast
Review Category: Fishing Rods

Purchase: Fishing Rods I bought this rod in another country, just around 200 dlls, very near the MSRP in United States.

Things I like about the St. Croix Avid Casting 6' MH Fast Fishing Rods: I was searching for a rod for my father; He's not very into 'sensitivity' thing, he just likes to fish with cranking lures, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits but never with plastic worms. A week later, I installed my reel into the rod (Shimano Castaic Super Free) and started fishing with a 14 lb line. My curiosity turned into an amazing smile. With worms, the sensitivity of the rod is simply amazing, while using crankbaits makes you feel what things are thumping and even what are you crashing into, if its a rock, some moss, and the bites are felt instantly. It makes you feel what is really happening with your lure; Even tested the amount of sensitivity into a 3 ft deep place where Im completly sure there are just small bass. The worm was instantly hit by lots of fish, and every bite was detected. If someday I have the money to buy another serious rod for myself, i wouldn't bother buying a G-Loomis GLX. For the price its a G.R.E.A.T. rod!

What I don't like about the St. Croix Avid Casting 6' MH Fast: I don't like almost nothing. Perhaps it looks too plain for people who like gold colored accents or guides, but its because the rod is made to be functional, not flashy looking.

Fishing Rods Avid Casting 6' MH Fast quality: The fit and finish is superb, and a thing I really liked was how understated it looked. I really liked the graphite gray blank with black guides, very elegant and functional, Fuji Alconite guides, reel seat with exposed blank. You just look at the rod and it screams "I was made with love".... Its worthwile to look at the fine craftsmanship built into the rod. The cork is very smooth, and it feels so good built that honestly, I've never thought about the handle because it grips so fine you'll worry about fishing, not anything else.

Avid Casting 6' MH Fast summary: Great prize for the money. It makes you wonder if its reasonable to buy a higher priced rod against this one, while a more expensive might not give you an advantage over this fine rod. This Avid Casting rod should be in the top three choices of people looking for a truly great mid priced rod.
