Purchase: Hunting Gear Misc I purchased the product at Pike County Coop in Troy, Al. The reason I acquired Monster Mix Timberland was simple I wanted to establish a large perinneal foodplot in the heart of my South Alabama Property to supply needed nutrition during the post rut(rebuilding time), gestation period, lactation, and late summer-early fall.
Things I like about the Tecomate Monster Mix Timberland Hunting Gear Misc: This product performed great and easy to plant. Tecomate took all the guess workout of planting for me. The clovers in the mix are pre-inoculated and coated you don't have to worry about buying the right inoculant or if the inoculant is available. I first mowed the foodplot and then sprayed the plot with glyphosate after a week of regrowth. Next, I performed a control burn to eliminate the dead weeds. Again, I allowed regrowth and sprayed again. During this time I received the results of my soil test. The test called for 1 ton of ag lime , 60 lbs of phospurous and 80lbs of potash to the acre. The then tilled the lime and fertilizer in and planted the mix during the 15 of October. I used a cover crop of oats with the mix to help keep unwanted weeds out during the spring green up. After two weeks the plot was up and growing. After, 45 days I reapplied 0-20-20 fertilizer. The plot is still Thriving and feeding my wildlife.
What I don't like about the Tecomate Monster Mix Timberland: The only problems that I was faced with were during the spring green up. Broadleaf weeds and grasses came up in the plot. I control the grasses with a grass specific herbicide. But Because the clover and chicory are broadleafs I could not use a broadleaf specific herbicide so, I called Tecomate for help.They recommended a light mow to maintain the plot. When I mowed the plot it was like I fertilized it again. The clovers and chicory. That regrowth improved the attractiveness during the late spring and summer. I mowed one more time during the late summer and continued to fertilize every 45 days.

Monster Mix Timberland summary: This is a great product for growing attracting and holding deer to your land. If the direction are followed this plot will produce for 3-5yrs.
