Mossy Oak Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka Hunting Outerwear

Hunting Outerwear Manufacturer: Mossy Oak
Mossy Oak Model: Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka
Review Category: Hunting Outerwear

Purchase: Hunting Outerwear Bought these for late season bowhunting at our local Gander Mountain in Illinois. Caught them on sale for $120 ($150 - 20%).

Things I like about the Mossy Oak Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka Hunting Outerwear: There are three qualities that I look for in late-season archery clothing...warm, dry and quiet. I first wore this parka to the stand with my drystalker bibs (see my other review)when the temp was 8 degrees and the wind chill was -5. I sat from sunrise until noon and never got cold. I did have a few layers of other clothing underneath, but this parka kept me from leaving the stand early. The second time I wore this parka, the temp was 35 degrees with freezing rain. Not only did it keep me warm, but it kept me very dry as well.

What I don't like about the Mossy Oak Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka: Not as quiet as I would prefer, but definately more quiet than other parkas I have worn.

Hunting Outerwear Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka quality: 100% polyester brushed tricot shell stands up to brush and briars but remains soft and quiet in cold temps. The outer shell has two nylon-lined lower cargo pockets with snap-flap closures and handwarmer pockets behind, while the left chest pocket has a VelcroŽ closure and the right chest pocket has a zipper closure. Zip off the hood when it's not needed, and pull it tight when needed with the cord adjustment and VelcroŽ closure. The cuffs also are VelcroŽ-adjustable. The inner reversible jacket has a nylon outer shell with rib collar and cuffs, along with two front slash pockets. And it reverses to brushed tricot with two slash pockets.

Drystalker 4-in-1 Parka summary: Zip out the liner and wear just the liner (reversable) or the shell. When it is really cold, put the liner in for comfort in below zero temps. This parka can be used for many different conditions in many different locations. I use mine only for big game hunting and have a seperate parka for waterfowling and upland hunting.
