Mathews Switchback Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Mathews
Mathews Model: Switchback
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: I purchased my Switchback at O'Brien's Archery in Ashland, Kentucky. I paid $780.00 for the bow and two piece Mathews quiver. I had been shooting a Mathews FeatherMax since 1997 and although I simply loved the bow, I was ready for something (another Mathews of course)new.
Things I like about the Mathews Switchback: The Switchback is incredibly smooth, quiet, fast and forgiving. I've owned many bows in 22 years of bowhunting and can say that no bow company comes close to Mathews.
What I don't like about the Mathews Switchback: Not applicable.
Switchback quality: The Switchback, as with all Mathews bows, is a quality piece of machinery. As hard as it is to believe, each year they improve on their bows from the previous year.
Switchback summary: I began bowhunting in 1983 and have owned many different bows. I owned a couple of Jennings that I really enjoyed shooting and a Pearson Hunter Classic that was extremely slow by today's standards, but deadly accurate and forgiving. I didn't know what I had been missing until I bought my first Mathews in 1997. It had all a shooter could ask for; speed, silence, accuracy and not too heavy to hunt with. The Switchback is going to be even better. I shot the FeatherMax last week for the first time since I bought the new bow in May. Although it was still fast, accurate and quiet, it was a far cry from the Switchback.
