Oneida Black Eagle Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Oneida
Oneida Model: Black Eagle
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: I have long heard of the smoothness of these bows. Being a native of Michigan, and while on vacation last year I stopped by the factory in Marion. I brought with me my Matthews Q2 as a comparison. Quite simply there was no comparison. I paid roughly $650 for the bow and a few accessories.
Things I like about the Oneida Black Eagle: Smooth smooth smooth and FAAAAAST!!!! Surprisingly fast. I shoot at 64 lbs. My Matthews set at the same lbs was 22 fps slower! The best part about this bow is that it there is NO recoil, somehow all the enrgy is sent into the arrow and not the bow. I would have thought my Matthews was smooth until I shot the Oneida.
What I don't like about the Oneida Black Eagle: Price of course. Although I guess all bows are expensive these days. Also I feel needs limp savers and the like to quiet the bow some.
Black Eagle quality: Construction seems to be very durable as I dropped it about 13 ft when my pull rope came undone. Machined aluminum riser i think.
Black Eagle summary: Bottom Line is don't take my word for it. There is soooo much miss-information and advetising out there that you have to just take the time to shoot this bow. I had never even heard of this Mfg. until a friend of a friend mentioned it. I have shot PSE Matthews and Hoyt and none of them compare. Further, i can tell you of my hunting buddies who shoot Matthews and hoyt all but one have now switched to the Oneida. Try it.
