Parker Micro Phoenix Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Parker
Parker Model: Micro Phoenix
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I purchased this bow at Bass Pro Shop in Hampton, VA for $399.99. I used to have a Reflex, which my husband sold, so I needed a replacement. I had heard good things about Parker, so I looked at/shot different models before deciding on the Micro Phoenix.
Things I like about the Parker Micro Phoenix Bows: My previous bow was a full size man's bow. Even with the draw length shortened all the way, the draw length was still too long. The Micro Phoenix, which is marketed towards shooters with a shorter draw, came with three different draw length modules (which install easily without the need of a bow press) for a perfect fit. The fit and finish of the bow is exceptional, with the same attention to quality and detail as the full-size Phoenix. When I put the lazer tuner on the bow, I noticed that the string, cam, and idler wheel were in perfect alignment. Even though this bow is only 50#, it seems to shoot arrows at a faster rate than my other bow set at 57#. The accuracy of this bow is amazing (it beats the hell out of my old bow). Arrow groupings the size of a quarter are the norm. As a hunter, I REALLY like the fact that this bow is QUIET! My husband said that the only thing he hears when I shoot is the arrow going "swish" through the air. The small size of the bow also makes moving around in and aiming from a treestand a breeze.
What I don't like about the Parker Micro Phoenix : The only thing I don't like is the fact that the area where the rest is mounted seems to be somewhat small. I would think that there could be clearance issues with some rests or sights. Also, the option of a wooden grip would be nice.
Bows Micro Phoenix quality: The bow comes in a Mossy Oak New Break-Up finish, just like the full-size bows. The precision machining on the riser looks clean with no flaws. The bow is sturdy, compact, and light (even with all the goodies on it).
Micro Phoenix summary: The Parker Micro Phoenix is an excellent choice for the short-draw archer. It seems to have the speed and accuracy of a full-size bow and shoots as smooth as butter. It is light and manuverable- perfect for hunters and target shooters alike!
