Matthews LX Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Matthews
Matthews Model: LX
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I came across this product last year at a local sporting goods store while searching for a new bow. I had outgrown my old bow that I used through my teen years and early twenties. I had came to a point in my life where I was willing to splurge a little on a sport I have loved most of my life. I paid about $640 for the LX and haven't regretted a penny of it since.
Things I like about the Matthews LX Bows: Probably my favorite thing about this bow is the lack of noise and vibrations that occurs when I shoot it. I have been so use to mid-grade bows that feel like a pistol when they are released. It is easy to adjust and tune exactly how you want. You know when a bow really fits you and this bow fits nicely. I have taken 2 whitetails with this bow and am very satisfied how it consistantly delviers when I need it to. Depending on arrows and such that you may use the LX has more than enough speed and power to deliver in the woods or on the range. I PERSONALLY also like the length of the bow. At 35 5/8 in.,and 6 5/8 brace height it gives me the stability required to shoot all day , but isn''t too uncomfortable to take into the woods.
What I don't like about the Matthews LX: There are only a couple of things that I can see people not liking about the LX. One is the Axle-toAxle length. There are several models out there with much shorter lengths that allow for a more compact carry, which could pay off in a hunting trip consisting of thick cover or long hikes. Also not the lightest or fastest bow on the market. Again denpending on your needs and priorties this is something you will have to decide upon.
Bows LX quality: I think this bow is very well built, and has never given me any problems so far. I have had this bow a season now and have fired many, many shoots through. It is consistantly every bit as accurate as I am, which is all I can ask. The 80% letoff and V-Lock Zero Tolerance Limb Cup System is very nice for those of us who are not Superman.
LX summary: All together I think that if you are looking for a top of the line bow that gives you the quality you would expect for this price you should at least go to your local Matthews dealer and shoot one of these bows. It may change your outlook on archery.
