Hoyt Razortec Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Hoyt
Hoyt Model: Razortec
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I purchased my Hoyt Razortec off e-bay (they don't make them anymore) after talking to a competitive archer and bow tech at Bowie Outfitters in Baton Rouge. I liked it so much after getting it and shooting it I bought a second one for a back up and set them up identically with Hoyt accessories; Micro Elite sight, Quicktune 4000 drop away rest, Doinker stabilizer Sims string leaches and Alpha Shox. I paid about $400 each.
Things I like about the Hoyt Razortec Bows: I love everything about this bow. It is very fast and forgiving. It's short (33" axle to axle, same as the Trykon) and is nice looking. The first time I took them to the indoor archery range to sight them in I shot Robin Hood right at the nine o'clock position of the bullseye. Beautiful!
What I don't like about the Hoyt Razortec: The grip is small and wood, not comfortable for long practice sessions. And Hoyt doesn't make them anymore.
Bows Razortec quality: Excellent quality (it's a Hoyt!) Split limbs, cam and a half, easily adjustable draw length and weight, smooth and quiet. The bow is very light, not like my Magnatec. I shoot 5575 Gold-Tip Expedition Hunter arrows with New Archery Products (nap) Razorback 100 grain broadheads at 65#, it's a deadly combination.
Razortec summary: If you are considering buying a bow, I would track one of these baby's down and buy it! Know your proper draw length and weight if you're buying it off e-bay. You may find a used one at an archery shop, but it would be hard to get the exact one you want. Hoyt also made the Supertec that is identical but with the Spiral cam that will not allow you to adjust the draw length.
