Oneida Screaming Eagle Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Oneida
Oneida Model: Screaming Eagle
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I bought this bow used at a yard sale in Preston County West Va. I paid $75 for it and I know it to be an expensive product when new.
Things I like about the Oneida Screaming Eagle Bows: This bow is accurate, fast and above all it is similiar to a recurve so that I can still shoot instinctively and nearly "off the shelf" with the right arrow rest setup.
What I don't like about the Oneida Screaming Eagle: This bow is a bit heavy and a bit long and a bit loud. And newer models are quite expensive.
Bows Screaming Eagle quality: The quality is there. My bow is nearly 20 years old. I have replaced the string and thats it. Parts are available but MAKE SURE that anyone who works on this bow KNOWS what they are doing. I have killed 2 deer a year with this bow in all kinds of weather for many seasons. I use a 2219 Easton XX75 arrow with 100 grain Muzzy Broadheads. Except on bone shots I usually find my arrows on the other side of the deer...complete pass through penetration at 10 - 20 yards.
Screaming Eagle summary: My attraction to this bow is in its similarity to a traditional recurve. I have hunted traditional all my life until a shoulder injury prevented me from pulling my 70lb Mamba. I acquired the Oneida and liked it so well that it is still my primary hunting bow.
