Martin Jaguar Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Martin
Martin Model: Jaguar
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I paid about $390 for this bow at Bass Pro shops 2 years ago. I purchased it primarily due to the combination of advertised speed, low price, and overall aesthetics of the bow.
Things I like about the Martin Jaguar Bows: It is a quiet, fast bow. I am well over 280 fps with a 100 grain Rage broadhead and blazer vanes on ultralight Carbon Corce arrows. The brace height and overall length both make it very comfortable to shoot from the angles required in a tree stand. The camougflage pattern is very realistic and does not have any glare at all.
What I don't like about the Martin Jaguar: I honestly cannot think of a thing. Other than the grip could be a bit better.I have felt a lot better, but it is not too bad either.
Bows Jaguar quality: Last year I knocked my bow off my hook in the tree from about 20' up. It landed right on one of the limbs, bounced up about 4 feet...after inspection and a couple draws, I felt it would be OK. Later that week I shot my first P & Y buck. I would say it is pretty durable and weather resistant too.
Jaguar summary: I have never been happier about a bow. I have killed 5 deer in two years with this bow. Four were between 30 and 37 yards away. the only arrow that did not pass all the way through was on my P & Y buck last year. It hit the opposite side shoulder and still stuck out 6-8 inches after deflecting. The other deer was shot at 3 yards right below my stand. I have recommended this bow to several freinds and acquaintances. It is BY FAR the best bow I have shot. In fact last year while at a range, I had a Hoyt shooter and a Mathews shooter comment on how quiet it was for a fast bow...I made trhe right choice!!
