High Country Archery Iron Mace Bows
Bows Manufacturer: High Country Archery
High Country Archery Model: Iron Mace
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows Purchased, from Save Big Outdoors For $649.00. I have had 2 previous HCA bows, and flat out enjoyed shooting them. Machined Supreme and I still have my Brute Force. I took a chance and purchaced the Iron Mace without even holding one, just a picture. I DID NOT GET BURNT. Incredible bow, and not quite the price of some of the others.
Things I like about the High Country Archery Iron Mace Bows: The Iron Mace is simply a dream to shoot. No recoil, and fast. 70 lbs,30" draw and 350.5gr arrow = 322fps through an F-1 chrony. Putting IBO Spec's to the side. Speedpro arrow 5.5 =280gr was 364fps. My actual Hunting arrow is 460gr it was 284fps. This is the first bow I've had with a draw stop, and I Love it no more play in the valley/ consistent pull. I'ts a tac driver.
What I don't like about the High Country Archery Iron Mace: The Iron Mace is not as fast as the PSE X-force 6" braceheight. I and my friend purchased the bows about the same time. His X-force is alittle harder to adjust to in the feel. Shooting the assortment of different arrows the x-force is 16-18 fps faster.
Bows Iron Mace quality: Excellent quailty on the machine work and camo finish.
Iron Mace summary: It's hard to put the Iron Mace down, It is just fun to shoot. After a shot the bow just sits in your hand, its funny to grab my older bow and shoot it because it feel like it's springboarding out of your hand. A person doesn't realize that until they have something to compare it to. All in All it's an outstanding bow, In my opinion you won't be disappointed.
