Hoyt Power Hawk Bows

Bows Manufacturer: Hoyt
Hoyt Model: Power Hawk
Review Category: Bows

Purchase: Bows I purchased this bow from Impact Archery in Clovis, CA. Tim runs a top notch shop. Great customer service. Helpful staff. I paid $599 for the Hoyt Power Hawk package. 70 pound, 28" draw. The package included a tubed peep sight, a 3 pin cobra sight, string loop, stabilizer, and a 2 piece 6 arrow quiver. I had the original rest swapped out for a whisker biscuit ($20 extra). It also came with 3 target arrows.

Things I like about the Hoyt Power Hawk Bows: This bow is easy to shoot. Nice draw. Solid wall. Fairly quiet. Very little to no hand shock. It is a pretty smooth bow to shoot. The M4 cam and a half allows for 1/2 inch adjustments in the draw length. The bow has a nice camo finish. Limbsaver Alpha shocks, fuse string silencers and riser shocks. Split limbs. I think this bow is a great value for someone working within a budget. A great starter bow. The bow appears flawless.

What I don't like about the Hoyt Power Hawk: I really cannot say anything bad about this bow package. I do have a couple of minor issues, and that is I think this bow would definetly benefit from a string dampener. Perhaps a Fuse Stealthshot (like on the Katera) or an STS. The pins on the Cobra sight are not all that bright, either.

Bows Power Hawk quality: This is a reflex riser bow. Split paralel limbs. Cast Magnesium riser. Realtree HD camo finish (very nice). Hoyt calls the cam system "cam and a half". 32" axle to axle. 7" brace height. 4.1 lbs. Overall, very good quality in my opinion. 303 feet per second, IBO.

Power Hawk summary: A great first bow for a beginner. A great value for people within a budget, beginner or not. Good bang for the buck. Well built, smooth, fast and powerful enough for most hunting situations. I have already recommended this bow to a couple of friends who are thinking about getting started in archery.
