Purchase: Bows Purchased brand new at Kruzingas archery in Mattawan Mi. Paid $750.00 for the bare bow. I bought the bow for the Mathews quality and re-sellability. Turns out I don't want to re sell this one.
Things I like about the Mathews Legacy Bows: Fantastic bow! I've owned, shot, and harvested deer with many other bows including: XI Impact, XI Legacy, Hoyt Super Slam, Pro-Line Mountain series, Oneida Eagle, Oregon, High Country 4-Runner and lastly the Mathews Legacy. I went through many bows looking for the perfect bow and found it in the Legacy. Mathews has made several upgrades to date (I like the DXT), but I dont feel the upgrades are enough to buy another. Very little to no kick, reliable, quiet, and it looks good (even for an older model).
What I don't like about the Mathews Legacy: The bow is a touch on the heavy side. Paint wears near the grip over time due to the machined corners. Price is definately higher than some competetors, it's an investment.
Bows Legacy quality: Overall excellent. I shoot alot and this bow has everything I wantin a bow. You will be happy with this bow. You get what you pay for.
Legacy summary: The archery industry will have to invent or have a very big improvement in technology berfore I buy another bow. Again, as I said above you do get what you pay for. Now if you are reading this you are reviewing an "older" mathews model as the DXT and Reezen are now on the market. Even so, the Legacy has most of the best Mathews innovations including the roller guard, paralell lims, string supressors and harmonic dampeners. I am very happy with mind and Mathews quality.
