Bear Element Bows
Bows Manufacturer: Bear
Bear Model: Element
Review Category: Bows
Purchase: Bows I bought this bow at Dick's 3 years ago on sale for $199. This was my first parallel limb bow after using the older style for several years. I have used it primarily for deer hunting. When I bought it I didn't want to spend much more as I wasn't sure I would enjoy bow hunting.
Things I like about the Bear Element Bows: Draw weight is very easy to adjust with just an allen wrench. Shoots straight and consistent. I have shot hundreds of arrows and it has been very durable and reliable. Easy to carry through the woods and maneuver in a tree stand. Definitely best used for hunting vs competition.
What I don't like about the Bear Element: Instructions for tuning were hard to understand. I got much better help off the web. Draw length adjusted by changing a module which requires a bow press and the appropriate module. A little on the noisy side though limb savers have helped a bunch.
Bows Element quality: Has been very durable. Has been drug through all sorts of bramble and thicket with no real scratches showing. Has been dry fired at least twice (please do not try this, the first time I almost soiled myself) and still shoots like the day I bought it.
Element summary: I have been very pleased with this bow. I bought it when I was just getting interested in bow hunting. I figured on buying a lower end bow and moving up later if I was still interested. Well I am now hooked on bow hunting (I have taken my bow into the woods several times during gun season). But I feel no need to change bows. The Bear Element is working just fine and meets all my needs in a hunting bow.
