About the artist Stephen Herrero A self taught artist, Stephen didn't discover his sculpting ability until he was almost 30 years old. He was first introduced to the "wild magic", as he called it, of chain saw sculpture. Soon, however, he pursued other mediums through which he could channel his creative talent. ,,For Stephen the sculpting process begins with his search for that unique branch of wood, or slab of stone that will excite his creative instincts. Carving, sculpting, shaping, he seems to possess the ability to "see" not only with his eyes, but also with his hands, as strong yet gentle fingers probe each piece to determine the correct form. ,,Viewing his art, one senses he is a man with an obviously powerful passion for his work.
