Hunting Scopes - Bushnell's® New Firefly™ Reticle Gives Hunters An Advantage During Low Light Conditions

Hunting Scopes - Bushnell

Hunting Scopes - Overland Park, KS —Last year Bushnell® added a new chapter to the book on riflescopes with its Firefly™ glowing reticle technology. For 2004, the company is expanding its line of Elite® scopes offering the Firefly reticle with the addition of a 2-6x32mm scope for handgun hunters and a 5-15x40mm for varmint hunters.

The Firefly reticle gives hunters a distinct advantage of greater accuracy and quicker shot placement during early morning and later afternoon hunts. The Firefly reticle is coated with a photo-luminescent material that glows in all low light conditions after being charged for a few seconds with a flashlight.

Charging the Firefly reticle is simple and easy to do. Just shine a flashlight into the eyepiece for 10 seconds before use. For the first few minutes, the Firefly reticle will glow brightly and then fade to black. When other crosshairs would normally disappear or be impossible to see on your target, the Firefly reticle will glow a slight green. In the field under low light conditions, the reticle will be easy to see as it gathers ambient light.

The Firefly is also available on Bushnell's Elite 3200 3-9x40mm, 3-9x50mm with a 30mm tube, 3-9x50mm with a 1" tube and a 1.5-4.5x32 Elite 3200 riflescope. In the Elite 4200 line Firefly is available on the 2.5-10x40. All the Elite Firefly scopes feature a matte finish.

The Elite 3200 and 4200 riflescopes also feature RainGuard , a permanent water repellant coating system applied to the objective and ocular lenses that prevents fogging from rain, snow or cold temperatures.

If the hunter accidentally breathes on the eyepiece or it is pouring down rain, he will still see his trophy and not miss the shot of a lifetime. The Elite riflescopes are nitrogen-purged and O-ring sealed, so they are waterproof and fogproof inside and outside.

The two new scopes will be available in January 2004 at Bushnell dealers nationwide.
