Here’s how to understand kHZ high frequency and keep in mind this is reverse logic - fish finders are for smaller bodies of water and show great bottom and fish detail. Low frequency finders are for larger bodies of water both from a depth and width standpoint.
Most people can get away with a mid to high range frequency fish finders. These finders show the bottom in greater detail and only in a limited amount of floor.
