Fishing Lures - Fishing The Mepps Weedmaster

Fishing Lures - Mepps Feature Article

Fishing Lures - Now you can fish the World’s #1 Lure where it has never been fished before. Mepps has adapted a unique weedguard skirt to its famous French spinner. One of the best kept secrets in fishing has been the use by many experienced bass fishermen of the Mepps spinner when the fish were in relatively open water. However, by nature the bass is an ambush type fish that spends most of its time in or close to cover, and it is best you get your lure to where the lunkers hide.

After years of development and testing, Mepps has produced a version of its famous spinner to fish the thickest cover. Good enough to earn the Mepps name. . . it’s called the WeedMaster. This development is the result of combining plastics know-how with advanced computerized mold-making technology. The result of our development was a weedguard skirt so unique it is patented.

We wanted a single piece, combination weedguard and skirt. One that would not only have a soft feel, but be strong enough for the spinner to penetrate thick cover. It is a one-two punch combination that makes for an unequaled lure presentation.

Because bass literally swallow the whole spinner, we retained the use of a treble hook to maximize hookups. And swallow them they do.A Mepps spinner, during its retrieve, generates a bait simulating hologram that literally drives fish nuts! When a bass zeros in on the flashing, vibrating blade of the WeedMaster; it’s hooked!

In-line spinners are more compact, streamlined and wind resistant than spinner baits so they can be cast with great ease and accuracy.

No longer do you have to wear yourself out chunking heavy spinner baits with heavy rods. And you can fish with modest sized and moderately flexible rods; rods that give the bait to the fish to swallow and provide pinpoint accuracy.

The WeedMaster is available in six proven color schemes. . . shad, red shad, perch, shiner, sunfish and fire tiger; classic patterns for the bass fisherman. Select either the renowned French Mepps Aglia blade or the Mepps Aglia Long willow leaf blade. Couple those blades with machine turned brass bodies and fittings, a glittering weedguard skirt plus a fluorescent hook sleeve, and you have the absolute very best in a bass bait. And of course, Mepps unsurpassed quality continues in the WeedMaster.

The WeedMaster was developed in the Mepps tradition for the dedicated bass fisherman. Now, you can put the World’s #1 lure in your arsenal and fish it where it has never been fished before. Thickest cover and brush, nothing can stop the Mepps WeedMaster. Its natural size, flash and vibration are only exceeded by Mepps unblemished half century reputation of being the World’s #1 Lure.
