Mister Twister Prop™ Fishing Tips And Tactics

Fishing Lures - Mister Twister

Mister Twister - Mister Twister® puts the fun in drift fishing with the Mister Twister® Salmon Prop.™ Simply put, there is no other drift fishing lure more effective or more durable than the Prop.™ Nationwide, more and more streams are experiencing trout, steelhead and salmon runs, and drift fishermen, using the Salmon Prop™ are limiting out on these trophy fish.

Whether you’re a pro or a novice, you’ll soon discover there is no better lure for drift fishing than the Mister Twister® Salmon Prop.™

As a river flows its flow is interrupted by rocks, fallen timber and other debris. This debris forms pools, and these pools hold fish. Fish a Salmon Prop through these holes and you’ll tie into action.

While rigging for drift fishing may seem odd to the novice fisherman, it really is simple. Drift fishermen use pencil lead for weight. This can be purchased anywhere that sells drift fishing supplies. It comes in coils or long sections that can be cut to any length (A 1-1/2” to 3” piece is generally suffecient).

Pencil lead is either hollow or solid. Solid pencil lead is inserted into surgical tubing attached to a snap swivel. To rig, run your main line through the swivel’s split ring, followed by a bead. Then, tie a second snap swivel to the end of your main line. Attach your rigged Salmon Prop™ to the second snap swivel through the loop in its leader.

This rig is preferred by most drift fishermen because the sliding weight allows a more natural bounce than a fixed-position weight. It also will not interfere with the natural action of the Prop.™ In addition, the bead protects your knot and the snap swivel permits quick leader changes.

Hollow pencil lead is pinched onto a drop line that is tied to a three-way swivel While this method works well, it is rigid and not as versatile as solid lead rigging. Either rigging, however, permits the weight to pull free if snagged.

All Mister Twister® Props™ can be rigged with natural or synthetic egg clusters, cut plug or whole herring, or fished on their own with a small piece of contrasting yarn tied to their hook.

Mister Twister® Prop™ bodies are available in a wide variety of sizes and colors to fit all your drift fishing needs.

Salmon Props™ come as pre-assembled drift rigs with either a single hook or dual hooks. They are also available with a single treble hook. All hooks are nickel plated; extra strong and razor sharp. Other outstanding features of the Mister Twister® Prop™ Series include a neutral buoyancy design that keeps the Prop™ in the strike zone at all times. Its cupped impellers create a fish-attracting commotion when pulled through the water. It is also virtually indestructible; go ahead, drive your pickup truck over it. In addition, the Prop™ comes in a wide variety of sizes and colors for all drift fishing conditions.

Choose from individual Prop™ bodies, a treble hook salmon Prop,™ or component packages that include a Prop™ body, Premium monofilament line, hooks and beads. All Props™ are quality built to demanding Mister Twister® standards.
