The Who, What and Why of the String Leech®by Warranty and Tech Support Guru Shawn Coulter

Hunting Gear - Limbsaver String Leech

Limbsaver String Leech- Recently, Hoyt® USA, Parker® and Archery Research have elected to include a promotional pair of String Leech® on some of their new bows. This has introduced a large number of people to the benefits of our product, as well as brought to light some questions and misconceptions concerning the String Leech®... So, here's the scoop!

The dramatic effect that our String Leech® has no string noise is apparent from the first shot. The combination of the unique shape of the patented String Leech® and proprietary NAVCOM™ material dampens string vibration and eliminates the "twang" more efficiently than any other product on the market. This makes the String Leech® indispensable to hunters in the field by curbing the chance that their prey will "jump the string"; however, the same attributes that make the String Leech® desirable, also make it expendable.

The String Leech® works by expanding and stretching during the shot. The string's vibration and oscillation, the back and forth movement, is eliminated by the String Leech® which bears the brunt of that abuse. Since the Leech is made from NAVCOM™ (a rubber-like composite), that abuse will take it's toll and, not unlike the tires on your car, the Leech will wear out and need to be replaced.

The estimated life span of a pair of String Leech® is 300-500 shots, although we have experienced and received many reports of 1000+ shots on one pair. The new design that incorporates a string wedge to resist string cutting is a great improvement over our earlier designs.

Some target shooters find themselves blowing through String Leech® sets frequently because of the sheer number of shots they fire. Many of these target shooters decide that replacement of the string Leech® once or twice during the tournament season is too much and our other LimbSaver® products do the trick, but many more continue to use the String Leech® realizing that the benefits far outweigh the inconvenience of replacement. Our hunting customers are a different story. Once they try the String Leech®, most will never again hunt without them!

CAUTION: Safety glasses should be worn for absolute eye protection when using this product!
