Starrflight FOB - Hunting Arrow Accuracy Without Fletching ??
Starrflight FOB- Itís called the FOBô and looks like something from the aerospace industry, which it is. When an FOB is installed on an arrow shaft in lieu of conventional fletching and shot from a Fall Away Rest, the FOB increases high-speed stability, accuracy and penetration, especially with broadheads.
Wind tunnel and strobe light testing on the FOB showed a 150% increase in low angle stability, 70% reduction in cross wind drift, a 3 fold increase in torque reduction and virtual elimination of arrow shutter when tested against plastic and feather fletching.
According to company spokesman Paul Morris, ďAs soon as the arrow leaves the string the powerful steering forces of the FOBís ring wing instantly stabilizes the shaft flex paradox. The three powerful turbine struts impart instant spin on the arrow to normalize any shaft straightness tolerances, which allows the arrow to stabilize more rapidly, reducing critical speed robbing, air friction down range. The FOB is especially vital when shooting large broadheads where flight can be a problem. Bottom line, an FOB equipped arrow leaves the bow straighter, stabilizes more quickly, shoots flatter and hits harder.Ē
FOBís are available in two sizes; 1Ē for target/field use and smaller diameter/mechanical broadheads as well as 1 1/4Ē for use with any large diameter broadheads regardless of size. FOBís are simple to install, are made of high impact, weather-resistant space age polymer and will fit standard Internal, component system carbon shafts with a press in nock.
