PSE 2005 Firestorm LiteHunting Gear- Tucson, AZ – Precision Shooting Equipment, manufacturer of high quality archery equipment since 1970, introduces the reconfigured Firestorm Lite™ compound bow for 2005. The 2005 Firestorm Lite carries PSE’s new NRG™ Hybrid Performance Cam System. This new cam system combines the best of a single-cam with the best of a two-cam. Identically sized and weighted cams are mounted to the ends of each limb. A single split-harness cable connects the top limb to the bottom cam for excellent control of draw weight and draw length. A control cable from the bottom cam enslaves the top cam to optimize draw force curves and nock travel. The NRG Hybrid Cam is modular; you can change the draw length easily over a five -inch range. It also has additional string posts so you can fine-tune the draw length 3/8 inch in either direction. Finally, by flipping the small drawstop/ letoff module, you can change letoff from 80% to 65% in only a few seconds. Two physical characteristics of the Firestorm Lite make it unique. It is very short, with an axle-to-axle length of just 30 inches and it has a brace height of 8 3/4 inches. This high brace height makes the bow very forgiving; the arrow is off Firestorm Lite the string and beyond the influence of the bow quickly. Yet, despite its forgiving nature, the Firestorm Lite produces a surprising amount of arrow speed. It has an amazing 300 fps IBO standard speed rating. The NRG Hybrid Performance Cam System assures level nock travel so you can keep that fast arrow moving in the right direction. The Firestorm Lite is quiet in part due to its high brace height, but also because of its nearly vertical limb movement. Vibration from the limbs cancel each other out before they ever reach the riser. PSE also pre-installs their Top Gun™ String Chubs™ in the bowstring to stop vibration at the source. In addition to this great bow, check out PSE’s complete line of optional, bow-matching accessories.
