PlotSpike Seeds For Wildlife Introduces Two New ProductsHunting Gear -PlotSpike Seeds will unveil two items at the 26th annual Shooting Hunting Outdoor Trade (SHOT) show in Las Vegas on February 12th, 2004. PlotSpike will now offer soil-testing services and will be the first major food plot company to offer a shade blend for food plots. The new products were selected and formulated in response to demand by food plot managers and comply with the company’s “Pure, Proven, Premium” criteria. PlotSpike soil testing sample kits will be available at better retailers across the country. The kit comes with sample bags and instructions on collecting soil samples. Mike Massey, director of PlotSpike sales, said “No one should invest in a food plot without first obtaining a professional analysis of the soil. Our analysis will include specific fertilizer and lime recommendations for the soil and the crops to be planted in the plot.” PlotSpike will analysis the soil and email or fax results within 48 hours of receipt of the soil samples. PlotSpike Shade Blend will be available this Spring. Shade Blend works in moderate shade and will establish with minimum tillage. “Although Shade Blend will be slower to establish than a traditional plot, we expect most hunter will be happy to have a blend for that secret spot on the edge of the woods or in a cutover patch.” Massey said. Shade blend will establish with minimum tillage and will grow on any site receiving 4 hours of direct sunlight and adequate rain. Shade blend should be on the shelf in April 2004.
