Hunting License Fee Increase - Colorado DNRHunting- As an agency, the DOW relies on revenue from hunting and fishing license fees for nearly 70 percent of its funding. Remaining revenue comes from federal excise taxes on sporting goods, federal grants, and GOCO funding. The DOW receives no state tax revenues and, as an enterprise agency, changes in license fees do not affect state fiscal limits. The last increase of resident hunting and fishing license fees was in 1992. In the 13 years since the last increase, inflation has risen by 45%. Source: Colorado DNR
