Hunting Bows – Review Summary Recap

Hunting

Hunting Bows are all very good now days compared to several years back, but some hunting bows are better than others. In this article Hunting Bow Review Summary Recap we will briefly summarize parts one and two of our Hunting Bow Reviews summary. We invite you to view all of our reviews of hunting bows by clicking the link at the end of this article.

Hunting Bows

Our overall winner was hunting bows manufactured by Mathews Archery. Not only did we receive the most reviews of their hunting bows, but also it was obvious they make a great hunting bow and people love their Mathews. The hunting bow with the most excellent ratings was the Mathews Switchback. As Mathews states on their website “You get the best overall hunting bow dynamics we’ve ever achieved. Our smoothest shooter yet.” Mathews is known for the smoothness of their hunting bows so if they say this bow is their smoothest then you know it’s a great piece of hunting gear.

Another hunting bow I’m eager to hear what our Readers have to say about is the Conquest Apex from Mathews. This is a re-worked model of the conquest hunting bow. The new Apex deflex riser on the Conquest Apex represents another Mathews engineering breakthrough giving you an 8-inch brace height and 310 (approx.) fps (IBO)!- Mathews Website

Last, but never least Mathews also released a hunting bow which won’t kill your wallet called the FX2. A friend of mine has this hunting bow on order and its due in any day now. I can’t wait to shoot it and compare it with the other compound bows we own or shoot.

Parker Hunting Bows

I’ve noticed a growing interest in Parker Hunting Bows picking up over the last six months. Parker is a baby in the hunting bow manufacturing world only going into business in the mid-nineties. The company’s Founder is Robert Errett who had a simple idea of what hunting bow manufacturers should be all about. He set out to use the finest components to produce high quality hunting bows while paying close attention to detail and most importantly offer outstanding customer service. From everything I’ve heard Parker makes an excellent high quality hunting bow. Keep an eye on them in the future.

Hoyt Hunting Bows

What article on hunting bows would be complete without mentioning Hoyt. Remember Rambo’s choice of hunting bow was a Hoyt. Although the hunting bows by Hoyt didn’t receive as many reviews as those by Mathews they still gave Mathews a decent run for their money. When we receive a review on hunting bows made by Hoyt usually the Reader mentions, fit, feel and little to no recoil. It seems once someone buys a hunting bow made by Hoyt they are Hoyt fans for life. No wonder they’ve stood the test of time in the sometimes fickle hunting bow market.

PSE Hunting Bows

Back in 1970, Pete Shepley used to receive a lot of good-natured ribbing from his fellow product engineers at Magnavox Corporation about his devotion to designing archery related equipment during his lunch hour. Today, Pete heads the largest privately owned archery equipment manufacturing company in the country, devoting all his time to the development of the most advanced compound bows and related equipment ever produced. – From the PSE Website

PSE Hunting Bows also did very well in our review summary, but like Hoyt just didn’t have the number of reviews like the Mathews did. Never the less they make an excellent hunting bow with many different options to choose from. Unlike a lot of hunting bow manufacturers they produce a full line of products including arrows, sights, quivers, and crossbows in addition to their line of hunting bows.

Of particular interest to us at Hunting & Fishing Gear Review is one of their newest hunting bows the VENGEANCE NRG HYBRID CAM we look forward to reading reviews of the new pse hunting bow. With it hybrid cam and 65-80% let-off it sounds like its going to be a great hunting bow. Yet another bow we can’t wait to take for a test drive.
