EnduraSkin

Hunting & Fishing Gear Review

Bass Pro is selling a new line of base layer called EnduraSkin. The difference between EnduraSkin and other base layer systems is EnduraSkin has an advanced breakthrough anti-microbial technology. Like many base layers systems your sweat is quickly moved to the outside of the garment where it quickly evaporates, however EnduraSkin takes it one step further by offering a silver ion based finish which prevents the growth of odor causing bacteria. This odor control system is guaranteed for the life of the garment, unlike some of the odor control systems which need recharged often.

Since EnduraSkin moves your perspiration to the outside of the garment where it evaporates your body is better able to regulate it’s own temperature which means you win the battle to stay warm.

Some of the products available in the EnduraSkin line are a Long Sleeve Shirt and pants for men in RealTree Hardwoods camo pattern. An EnduraSkin Balaclava and a skull cap. Last year was the first year I used a balaclava and won’t spend another cold day in the woods without one again. It’s amazing how much warmer you stay when the heat loss from those areas is controlled.

A very nice benefit to the EnduraSkin line is the price. The pants and long sleeve EnduraSkin shirt both sell for $29.95 a piece with the Balaclava selling for $14.95 and the skull cap at $9.95. That’s a considerable price difference from what I see UnderArmour’s Cold Gear on sale for over the last few weeks.

I haven’t had a chance to see this line in person, but from what I read and see EnduraSkin will be a huge hit especially with those of us who archery hunt.
