Leatherman Charge Tool

Hunting Gear

Leatherman has introduced their charge line of multi-tools. The two models in this lineup are the Leatherman Charge Ti and the Leatherman Charge XTi both offer stronger pliers and bigger blades along with premium materials, along with an impressive array of features not always available in other lines of multi-tools.

Leatherman Charge Ti

The Leatherman Charge Ti features all-locking implements, two one-handed opening knives (including a straight-edge with glazed 154 CM stainless steel), titanium handles, changeable bit drivers, a saw blade and diamond-coated file.

Leatherman Charge XTi

The Leatherman Charge XTi offers similar tools to the Charge Ti, and adds a nock/shot crimper to the plier jaws plus a cutting hook that slices through seat belts, linoleum and hide.

Both of these multi-tools are made for work either in the field or on the job.

I recommend anyone going fishing or hunting carry a multi-tool with them. On more than one occasion I’ve turned to my multi-tool to fix a problem that happened while a field. If I didn’t have the Multi-tool as part of my hunting gear I would have had to return to camp losing valuable hunting time.

The straight blade knife on both the Leatherman Charge XTi and Ti is made from a high grade steel called 154cm. The blade is precisely sharpened and holds its edge three times longer than high-grade stainless steel knives. This feature alone is worth the value of the tool. The blade itself is glazed by Leatherman to make it extra corrosion resistant.

Another feature Leatherman has added to the Charge models is the pliers are elliptical shaped which helps them withstand more than two times the squeezing load of their previous tools.

The handles of the Leatherman Charge line of multi-tools are platinum coated to offer corrosion resistance at a lighter weight making them perfect for storing with your fishing gear.

Both tools include extra accessories, such as a selection of two-sided bits, a removable pocket clip, a quick-release lanyard ring, and a premium sheath with room to hold everything that comes with the tool.

I don’t have the time today to write about the other 21 tools these knives contain. With their Charge line Leatherman has designed and built a multi-tool capable of handling some of the worst chores you can throw at it. Make it a part of your hunting gear or fishing gear today and you won’t be sorry.

***Update*** I see Bass Pro has a Leatherman Charge XTi tool in Realtree Hardwood Green on sale as of this writing for $99.88. This would make a great Christmas gift for a hunter or fisherman.
